Craig O’Brien – remember the name. On a stacked undercard on this Red Corner Promotion, he really made a statement.
Light Middleweight Craig O’Brien was probably the star of the show last night as he easily picked apart Christian Hoskin Gomez.
O’Brien seems to have every shot in the book and set a fast pace right from the start. O’Brien mixes his shots beautifully to the head and body and unloaded at ease on Gomez, who stuck with him and had some success in the third landing a few shots, but O’Brien quickly took control again.
He was boxing at ease on the backfoot and also throwing an excellent lead left hook. While in the fifth and sixth Gomez tried to force the pace, O’Brien looked in control as he was forced to box in close quarters,
O’Brien won 60-55 on points, with a possible drawn round in the fifth or sixth.
He’s really one to watch and a potential star in the making. He moves to 5-0 and looks like he could be moved along quickly even at this early stage.
