NXTGEN Show: Josh Kelly shines…

Josh Kelly really turned on the style last night in Newcastle on the NXTGEN card. Kelly looked a class apart from Tom Whitfield from the opening bell, having a clear advantage in speed and power.

He took just 1 minute and 19 seconds to stop Whitfield, But it was the way he did it that really impressed. Sensing that he hurt Whitfield, he fired in 10 successive punches including 6 left hooks in a row.

The future certainly looks bright for the former team GB star.

Also on the card

There were wins for Natasha Jonas on her debut with a first round knockout.

While Anthony Fowler continues to develop as he took apart Nikoloz Gvajava en route to a fourth round stoppage.

There were also wins for Stuart Hall who aims for another world title shot, and Bradley Saunders on his return back to the ring after 19 months out.
